Working within a 14-month timeline, commencing 28 December 2009, JURONG Consultants has been appointed to look into the potential of underground caverns for research laboratories and data centres. It will reassess the maximum built size for cavern complex, as well as other environmental and demographic factors. JURONG Consultants' scope of services include cavern layout, cavern accesses, geology, hydrogeology, laboratory layout, master-planning, data centre layout, fire fighting, CS shelter, E&M, etc.

Landing a part in this large-scale, innovative and cutting-edge project allowed us to affirm our capabilities in underground (UG) and space usage solutions. This follows after our past two underground cavern projects in Singapore and will set the pace for JURONG Consultants to embrace more similar projects as Singapore progresses into subterranean developments amid scarce land resources.
